We stopped 1/2 mile down the road for some pictures, and it looked like it was clearing up, so we went back to the lookout. And it did clear up, just for a while.
On advice of a tour agent, David at Molokai Ocean Tours and Outdoor Rentals, we did not go all they way to the boardwalk in the rain forest. The road is much worse, and he has had to tow several people out whose cars got stuck. And it is not cheap to do that. This same agent booked a tour for us with Uncle Walter (uncle is a honorific showing respect) for a boat trip around the north part of the island the next day.
